Well you know that I spent a lot of time last week/weekend fiddling around with the used swing set I bought. More on that is coming. But I had to cut myself off because I've got too much other shit going on. Like, hmmm, we are driving to Nova Scotia on Thursday, all 5 of us, to go to a wedding and camp out for a week. And let's see... I booked the campsites LAST NIGHT and haven't packed a thing! Yeah, nothing like waiting till the last minute. Oh and I have a job interview tomorrow. I've decided that I need to somehow supplement my DIY addiction a little better. So wish me luck with that. No worries, it's just a field I haven't worked in for 12 years, no biggy. Update: I didn't get the job. :(
Oh and I went to a chiropractor today for the first time in 10 years and.... he only evaluated me and didn't even adjust me. Boo! I literally have a pain in my ass that just won't quit. I'm pretty sure it was from shoveling compost out of hubby's truck from the side, you know, after I broke the tail gate and it won't come down. I'm pretty sure that's when it happened.
On the bright side, my assistant (my 11 year old daughter) and I scored big at the thrift store yesterday. We went to drop stuff off, but of course she wanted to go in. I don't think we've ever looked in the purse section before, because, well, we're not girly-girls like that, but she's growing up and starting to notice the brand names more. She also knows I would never in a million years buy her this stuff new! Ha!
It was totally worth it. We got that super cute Dooney & Bourke heart bag for $14.95. I tease her that I'm going to keep it, but it's totally hers. And she had no idea what Dooney & Bourke was, so I think that is even cuter.
The Coach bag was marked $14.95, but was a half off tag. It is now my go-to purse. I don't usually {ever} carry a purse, but this is small enough, and almost turquoise, that I think I'm in love. Plus I'm sure I'll love to brag that I got it for only $7.48.
The Kamik boots for my younger daughter were $3.95 and are very similar to the ones her big sis already owns. These are great because they can be both winter boots and rain boots and you know they will be waterproof. I hate winter boots that aren't water proof!
The awesome, look like they were never worn, Sanuk slippers (similar to these) were $1.95! Can't beat that! I love my Sanuk flip-flops, so I'm sure I'll love these too.
I can't forget the turtle glow light. My son L.O.V.E.S. turtles! Did you see my post on overnight pets? So cute. This was a must have for $1.95 even though I don't usually let the kids buy stuffed animals. I sprayed the heck out of it with Lysol. That goes for the shoes as well! My little man can't wait to bring his new turtle camping.
Anyway, I better get going, I've got to clean out my car and start getting the camping stuff out, then prep for my interview. Tomorrow I have to help someone unpack and move into their house for 4 hours. That should be great for my back. :( Hopefully I'll be a lot less stressed tomorrow. :)
Go see a different chiropractor. Better yet, see a spine specialist. I had back problems a couple of years ago and I refuse to see chiropractor due to MANY bad experiences with them. Anyway, specialist too x-rays and I was on some PT for a few weeks. Back got better. My daughter went to the same place with excellent results.
ReplyDeleteGreat thrift store finds. My son has one of those turtle glow lights. :)
Hey Julie! I am not a chiropractic believer either, but I was running out of options so close to my trip. The first day was an evaluation and I did bring 2 recent MRIs with me showing multiple bulging and herniated discs. Went back the next day and he adjusted me {no popping} and gave me a TENS machine, so I could give myself stim on the trip. Pain in my butt is completely gone! Yay!! Going back today hoping to get some relief in my neck and lower back. All that yard has finally caught up to me!!
