What's a Little Compost Between Bloggers

Of course we compost here at my house, but over the past few years, and with hundreds of new plantings along the way, I decided I need to call in the reinforcements.  I love shopping on craigslist!  Who doesn't, right?  Besides the normal kid stuff and furniture, I also look to craigslist for services.  I found an awesome tree guy on there that all my friends use now too.  And the guy who removed 2500+ square feet of asphalt from my property for $1,500 (less than half the next lowest bid).  ...Sorry, I had a point... I found a woman, Michele, who sells compost by the truckload.  For a mere $10 she will load my hubby's pickup full of composted horse manure with her backhoe.  {I have to stop and remind you that I was born and raised in NYC and I never thought I'd hear those words come out of my mouth.  Just sayin'!}

This is the 3rd summer we've been getting compost from Michele, but I finally met her for the first time this weekend.  Usually hubby goes with our 4 and 5 year olds because Michele lets them pet the horses.  The kids like to bring carrots and apples and feed the horses too.  My little one insisted on wearing her cow girl hat on this visit.  So sweet.

Here's Michele in action, filling up our truck.

And it turns out Michele is a blogger too.  Small world.  Visit her blog The Pitchfork Chronicles.  Here are some pics from her blog.
