Week 19 - The Garden Did Well While We Were Gone

I'm still catching up on things since we got back from Nova Scotia, so I had my assistant, Smart Jr., take the garden pics again this week.  Dude, I think she does a better job than me!   Check out the weekly garden updates here.

When we pulled into the driveway at 2am yesterday I was so happy with what I saw... the yard looked great.  I hadn't missed it while we were gone {I was taking a true vacation from all the work} but I was so happy to see it when I got out of the car.  The night was still and quiet and I could see how much everything had grown in the moonlit garden.

Considering we don't have any type of sprinkler system, just a few rain barrels 

and soaker hoses, everything had done really well.  The one casualty... a hosta bit 

the dust thanks to our vole population.  Voles!  Boo!!!
