  1. Wow, that last picture of the finished basement looks like it came right out of a magazine! Congratulations on your finished product! This is really a motivating site, I feel like even I can get some home improvement done!

Have you had a problem with the flooring sliding around since it's not glued down?

    Thanks,
    Connie

    1. Thanks so much Connie! I'm sure you can get plenty done around your house too!!

The vinyl flooring doesn't move at all. It's pretty substantial stuff and after maybe the third row went down I could not even force it move. I am going to blog some more about this floor. We had another flood (crazy, right?!) and it did not affect the new floor at all. Water was coming up through the seams, but I just dried it with some towels and you would never know. I'm so happy we went with this stuff!

      Thanks! Liz

    2. That's really cool. I love the "waterproof" basement using the laminate flooring and the PVC trim. I just hope to have less flooding than you did! Thanks again.

  4. Thanks! I am long overdue on writing a post about the basement stairs. Just another thing on my to do list! ;) The kids love them. And so do I! Whenever someone new comes over I've been known to make them go take a look at the stairs. lol

  5. Your finished basement looks great, Liz! I think most people would assume that this was done professionally, so I tip my hat off to you for creating such a great-looking space on your own. From the paint on the walls to the flooring to those funky looking stairs, you did an amazing job!

    1. Wow! Thanks so much!! I try to follow all the steps so I can get it right. The more I do, the more risks I'm willing to take. There's a lot of stuff that's silly to hire out. Not a roof of course! Too bad you're not closer, I need a roof estimate. For real! :)
